Its Thanksgiving Day over here today. Its a BIG family day and everyone goes home to eat turkey etc.

We were up early for a Bank Holiday (8ish). I looked out of the window and our normally deserted street was full of people jogging up and down, roller-blading and walking. Made us all in our dressing gowns feel very lazy, and Chloe kept tapping on the window to wave at people, so Jaine and I had to keep hiding! I went back to bed and hoped it would go away!

Some good friends of ours took pity on us being away from our family. We tried to say that the day isn't celebrated in the UK and we wouldn't notice, but were grateful for the invite. (They also kindly chaperoned us on July 4th!)

We went down to Cape Cod, to Falmouth, and went to Ned and Ann Nolans house (try saying NedAndAnnNolan quickly!). They are our friend Gay's parents. They have a fabulous Cape style house. One that looks cute and small from the outside but is actually enormous inside.

The roast was great - but a little bit different to ours. There was tasty mashed potato and garlic - we haven't see roast pots. since we've been over here! Strangest though was the mashed Sweet Potato. It was baked with a white 'cream' on top. We though it was sour cream to contrast with the sweetness, but instead it was MARSHMALLOW to enhance the sweetness. It actually tasted pretty good too! And we (finally) had some American Apple Pie just like the proverbial Mom makes! This great meal was enhanced by us taking turns to say what we were thankful for!

I tried watching American football but just couldn't get it. The game seems to run in 8 second bursts. These bursts are ok, but are split up by endless adverts. David tried to explain the rules to be but gave up on me soon after my daft questions and blank looks! Something about 4 10 yard downs? Hmmm? I would try and explain the offside rule to him in retaliation, but his wife coaches soccer so I couldn't get it wrong - too risky!

And a quiz for you: 3 words end in -gry, hungry, angry and another. Its apparently a common word - what is it!

Anyway, a day like today makes us miss you all even more.

Love to you all,
Simon, jaine, Chloe and Conor
